A Singapore agency built by people who got tired of agencies

PolusMarketingTroy was registered in Singapore in 2019 by three practitioners who had spent a decade between them in regional network agencies. We are 24 people today, and we still take on fewer than a dozen retainer clients at a time.

Our story

Why we started

The three founders met on a regional retainer where the client was billed for 180 hours a month and received a deck. Reporting was assembled by an offshore team who had never seen the product; the strategist who won the account had moved to another client by month three. It was profitable work and nobody was proud of it.

We started PolusMarketingTroy in July 2019 with two rules that still hold: the person who sells the work does the work, and every number we report must be traceable to a source the client can open. The first client was a Katong furniture importer who paid S$2,800 a month. They stayed for four years.

Growth has been deliberately slow — around five people a year, all hired into roles we could already fund from existing retainers. We opened a four-person satellite office in Kuala Lumpur in 2023 because half our clients sell into Malaysia and it was the only honest way to cover the market.

Leadership

Who you will actually be working with

Each retainer is led by one of the five people below. They attend every review call and they are the person who answers when something goes wrong.

Adeline Foo

Managing partner

Fifteen years in performance marketing, previously regional head of search at a network agency in Singapore. Leads e-commerce and retail accounts, and signs off every forecast we send.

Marcus Tan

Head of performance

Google Ads since 2012, in-house before that at a regional airline. Runs paid media across all accounts and is the person who insists on knowing your contribution margin before touching a bid.

Priya Raghunathan

Head of SEO & content

Technical SEO and editorial. Has led four platform migrations without losing organic revenue, and writes most of our internal standards on content quality.

Wei Jun Lim

Head of creative

Art director turned production lead. Built our in-house studio so that a creative test can be briefed on Monday and live by Friday.

Nadia Rahman

Analytics lead & Data Protection Officer

Measurement, consent and reporting infrastructure. Also our appointed Data Protection Officer under the Personal Data Protection Act.

Principles

Six things we do differently, and one we do badly

The last one is not false modesty. It is the most common reason a prospect should choose someone else.

  • One team, no hand-offThe strategist in the first meeting stays on the account. If they leave the company, you get to interview the replacement.
  • Client accounts stay client-ownedWe work inside your Google, Meta and analytics properties, never a shared agency account.
  • Fixed feesNobody here earns more when your media budget grows.
  • Written forecastsEvery quarter we publish a range we expect to land in, then show where we were wrong.
  • Fewer clients than we could takeA cap of twelve concurrent retainers, reviewed each quarter against team capacity.
  • Data handled under the PDPADocumented access controls, a named Data Protection Officer and data processing terms in every contract.
  • Where we are weak: speed of onboardingOur audits take two weeks and we will not launch until measurement is trustworthy. If you need campaigns live in five days, we are the wrong agency.

Working with us

What we expect from you

Programmes fail for predictable reasons, and most of them are shared. Before we start we agree on four things: one decision-maker who can approve creative and budget, access to analytics and ad accounts within the first week, honest margin data, and a monthly hour with someone from sales or the shop floor. That last one is the most valuable and the most often skipped.
